Travel Requirements

Visa requirements are determined by your nationality, purpose of visit, country of residence, and length of stay.

All you need to know!

1- US citizens do not need a visa to enter Costa Rica. US citizens must have a valid passport and a return ticket in order to leave Costa Rica within 90 days. (To return to your home country or to travel to another country). A US passport must be valid for at least one day after entering Costa Rica. Tourists from the United States are permitted a stay up to 90 days. A residence permit is required for stays of more than 90 days.

3- Yellow Fever Vaccine. Required if you are traveling from Angola, Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Liberia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Sudan, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Guyana and Venezuela. You can travel to Costa Rica ten days after the shot. Exceptions
